Set in the beautiful surroundings of Thetford Forest, Thorpe Woodlands Adventure Centre offers a fantastic range of adventurous and educational outdoor activities for primary schools, secondary schools, youth groups, FE colleges, universities, adults and corporate groups.
The Thorpe Woodlands Adventure Centre is located in the heart of the forest and has good access to footpaths, cycle tracks and the river Thet. Our modern facilities include a purpose built 50-bed residential centre, escape pods for up to 37 people, three camping glades accommodating up to 75 people, with access to separate showers and toilets, outdoor classrooms, campfire areas, conference rooms and much more..

Camping
Camping at Thorpe Woodlands offers the ultimate outdoor experience. Our excellent camping facilities include: large separate group camping glades, campfire circles, outdoor sinks with hot water, clean and modern shower/toilet block, outdoor classroom with light and power, picnic tables, water/refuse points for each glade and much more. Our location within Thetford Forest makes Thorpe Woodlands a perfect base for Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, cadet camps and other uniformed youth groups (Cubs, scouts, guides, beavers etc).

Residential Centre
Our beautiful residential centre offers 50 beds, a drying room, separate staff shower/toilet, large commercial kitchen, dining hall, meeting room and outside seating areas.
The modern Cedar-clad building blends perfectly with the surrounding forest and offers a warm and welcome retreat from the outdoors at the end of a busy day.
Our catering team provide food for all visiting groups although self-catering options are available if required.
The building is all on one level so we have no problem in accommodating people with disability or other additional needs. Our state-of-the-art accessible shower room features hoists, changing bed and shower chair.
Escape Pods
Some people call it ‘glamping’ but we think our Escape Pods offer more than just a glamorous camping experience. Our comfortable, cosy and warm pods are the perfect base for enjoying the outdoors as a group of family, friends or colleagues.
Built in March 2018 – We have 7 pods which measure 5m x 3m and have 5 ‘proper’ beds inside. There are also power sockets, heaters and plenty of space for storage. The newly built shower block is 35 metres from the pods and has excellent facilities.
Who are the Escape Pods for?
We are passionate about promoting health, well-being and learning through the great outdoors. We have developed the Escape Pods (glamping pods) so that groups of friends, families, schools, clubs etc. can come and enjoy spending a few days in our beautiful forest without the hassle of having to worry about bringing lots of camping equipment.
We also wanted to provide excellent facilities which are safe, secure and can be used in all seasons by groups of any age or ability. If you are looking for flexible, affordable group accommodation in Norfolk then you will not beat our Escape Pods!
