description

Based in the heart of the Peak District National Park. The Hollowford Centre prides itself in offering high quality outdoor education and adventurous activities. Hollowford has a fantastic location overlooked by Mam Tor the famous ‘shivering mountain’ and on outskirts of the picturesque village of Castleton, Derbyshire.

The Hollowford Centre offers both day visit activities and residential courses. The centre facilities are to a high standard and residential accommodation is available for up to 140 guests.

The centre is run by Lindley Educational Trust, an established and successful charity. Through our outdoor education and adventurous activity courses we aim to be a centre of excellence for the development of children and young people, whether they be from schools, youth groups, apprentices or voluntary organisations.  There are a range of on-site and off-site activities that include: canoeing, rock climbing, high ropes, archery, caving, raft building, bushcraft, team building tasks, abseiling, kayaking, low ropes, hill walking and mountain biking.

‘The overall aim of our programmes is to ensure that people, regardless of background, race, sex, religion, ethnic origin, disadvantage or disability, are provided with the tools and the confidence to reach their full potential throughout life.’

With over fifty years’ experience of developing programmes for children and young people, we are here to discuss your requirements and suggest an event to meet your specific needs and outcomes. Everything is custom designed and as a result you will not find any set packages or prices.

Whilst primarily a centre for children and young people, our facilities are suitable for corporate and other training events. Working closely with our corporate clients we design and deliver Apprentice, Graduate and Management training and development programmes for a number of companies.

At Hollowford we put our clients first which means we aim to be as flexible as possible. With a range of both on-site and off-site activities, classrooms and conference facilities, we are able to meet the requirements of any size and type of group.

Lindley Educational Trust also runs two vibrant and successful youth and community projects in Sheffield and Manchester.  Through these projects we work with around 300 young people every week, delivery youth clubs, sports sessions and adventurous activities.
