Broomlee Centre
Located 14 miles south of Edinburgh, Broomlee still retains a truly rural atmosphere. Set within more than 30 acres at the foot of the Pentland Hills, the Centre offers a broad programme of activities to all visiting groups and is a great base for walking trails or mountain biking at Glentress.
Broomlee Centre has seven cedarwood accommodation buildings with versatile layouts to suit all group sizes each with a multi-purpose room which can be used as music, meeting or games room. There is a private staff room and large multi-purpose hall with stage and seating for up to 200.
Why SOEC?
Scottish Outdoor Education Centres (SOEC) has many years’ experience in outdoor education and are leading advocates of intelligent outdoor learning. We are guided by the principles that outdoor education should be fun but that learning about ourselves and our place in the world is a natural outcome of our activities and programmes.
Our programmes are challenging, motivating and enjoyable but designed to maximise delivery of learning, personal and social development and Curriculum outcomes. SOEC has three centres each situated in pleasant rural surroundings, accommodating groups from 10 to 200 people and within easy reach of the major towns and cities in Scotland.
