Patterdale Hall is a Residential Outdoor Adventure Learning Centre owned and managed by Bolton School, but available to everyone.
We are an AALA licensed activity and residential learning centre available for hire by all groups. We are based at the Southern end of Lake Ullswater within easy reach of population centres in both the North West and North East of England, and we have also welcomed clients from throughout the rest of the UK and overseas. We offer a fully catered service for up to 75 clients, although are willing to talk to any group no matter how small, and will tailor-make an activity programme should you require it. All our activities take place on the doorstep of the centre with no need to travel in minibuses and waste valuable time. We are ideally located with natural crags and a 7-mile long lake all within easy reach on foot from the centre. Our 80 acres of extensive grounds allow access straight onto the Lakeland fells for walking, mountaineering and so much more. We have an adventurous gorge that flows through the grounds of the estate.
We hold the LOTC Quality Badge, AAIAC Adventure Mark and the AHOEC Gold Standard.
