description

We are a not-for-profit organisation based in Derbyshire, with a mission to provide access to the outdoors for all, especially young people and those who might not otherwise have the opportunity. Our adventurous outdoor activities are designed to broaden horizons and encourage personal and social development, alongside enhancing an appreciation for the natural environment.

The purpose-built, environmentally friendly centre opened in 2016, and we have since welcomed over 50,000 individuals to Mount Cook for world-class outdoor experiences. We can accommodate 180 guests in modern en-suite bedrooms and cosy, wooden glamping pods. Full catering is available in our impressive glass-fronted main dining hall.

In addition to our new facilities, we offer a variety of activities delivered by highly trained and experienced staff. Many of our activities are based in the disused quarry that Mount Cook is built on, giving our visitors a taste of local history.

With a commitment to development through outdoor learning, Mount Cook has become something truly special since its opening. With a variety of schools, charity retreats, apprenticeship and graduate programmes, and many more groups joining us for residential or day events, Mount Cook is looking forward to continuing our mission of bringing the outdoors to all.”
