Bowles is an inspirational residential development centre in a stunning location on the Sussex-Kent border near Tunbridge Wells. We work with schools, colleges, youth and community groups, businesses and families.

The Bowles Rocks Trust

The Bowles Rocks Trust is an educational charity providing personal development through outdoor and adventurous experiences for young people from all backgrounds including schools, youth groups and colleges. Set up in 1964, the charity supports over 4,500 young people through residential activity courses each year.

Bowles Outdoor Centre is a beautiful venue, developed along a spectacular 135 million year old sandstone rockface which boast over 230 rock climbs. With activity facilities including two outdoor floodlit ski slopes, numerous ropes courses, an indoor heated swimming pool and two accommodation blocks, one ensuite, this outdoor centre takes your breath away with both its beauty and the learning outcomes that visitors achieve.

Bowles L&D

Award logo

Award winning Apprentice & Graduate programmes as well as Leadership & Team Development at our residential Centre in the South East of England.

Bowles Learning & Development team are committed to innovative and experiential approaches to learning. We work closely with companies to improve business performance and achieve measurable results back in the work place. Companies working with Bowles deliver on their CSR goals because the profit made by the L&D Department is donated to the Bowles Rocks Trust, an educational youth charity that helps develop young people.

Outdoor Activities

Bowles Activity Centre is the perfect place to take up a new outdoor activity. Our courses and lessons introduce thousands of adults and children to new activities each year. We have a programme of outdoor activities every school holiday and in the winter we have a full programme of skiing and snowboarding on our two ski slopes. For a special birthday experience with friends we offer sledging, skiing, climbing, ropes courses, raftbuilding and archery.

Bowles Rocks, the Sandstone Crag

Facing south and quick drying, Bowles is one of the best sandstone crags to learn to rock climb in the South East.
